At least 130 injured as football fans, police clash in Egypt

At least 130 people were injured in clashes that erupted Tuesday night between football fans and police in Cairo, Egypt's state-owned news agency said, citing officials from the ministry of health.
MENA quoted a health ministry statement saying 71 injured people, including many said to be unstable condition, were transferred to the nearby Police Hospital.
The clashes erupted after an Egypt Cup game between the al-Ahly and Kima Aswan teams when riot police, who were providing security at the stadium, attacked crowds of fans for calling "provocative shouts" against them and former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly.
Of the injured, 72 were security personnel and the rest were fans, a security source told the news agency.
Al-Ahly club's website reported that one man killed after he was run over by a car, but there was no immediate official confirmation.
Police have arrested at least 13 fans following the violence, the state news agency reported.
An Interior Ministry statement said the security officers were provoked after some fans "insulted" them and broke stadium chairs and threw them -- as well as rocks and firecrackers -- at the officers.
After some fans left the stadium, some of them cut off off traffic at Cairo's main Salah Salem street, but they were dispersed, MENA reported.
