Court in Genoa refused to release Serbian football fans - 06/11/2010

Court in Genoa rejected request to release four, out of eight, Serbian football fans, arrested after the riots due to which football match between Italian and Serbian representations was terminated, Italian news agency Ansa reported.

The review court of Genoa has turned down the bail request made last week by the legal team of four of the eight Serbian ultras arrested after clashes at the Luigi Ferraris stadium, which led to the abandonment of the match between Italy and Serbia. The four fans are accused of resisting public officials and a steward.

After the clashes, four more ultras were arrested, including Ivan Bogdanov. The men are accused of a number of offences, ranging from aggravated criminal damage and grievous bodily harm to violations of stadium safety regulations and public order offences.
