Football fans clash in Limassol

Shocking scenes of violence have again been reported at a football derby in Cyprus, this time between AEL and Apollonas at the Tsirio stadium in Limassol.
Despite a massive police presence, fans from both sides still managed to cause trouble.
According to CyBC, some 500 Apollona fans tried to force their way into the stadium before the start of the game without going through the security checks, pushing past police and using sling shots, stones and even large nails, injuring one police officer in the eye.
He was taken to hospital for stitches.
Fans from both sides gathered outside the stadium after the match to continue the violence, who threw bottles and stones at the police.
A second police officer was also injured.
