Sports fans mourn team Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl)
Yesterday another tragedy to happen in air transport. Unpleasant news that a plane had crashed near Russia, and killed dozens. The tragedy, which toured the world in seconds, killed the Russian hockey team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Yesterday they had to play the first match of the season in the Continental Hockey League between last season's champions Salavat Yulaev and Atlanta. It was interrupted because of the tragedy in Yaroslavl, where the plane with the team of Lokomotiv crashed on takeoff from the town Tunoshna. The team flew for the match against Dynamo Minsk.
President of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) Alexander Medvedev announced a minute's silence and delay the match.
In the evening the inhabitants of Yaroslavl and all ultras which support Lokomotiv began to gather in the hall, which is playing their favorite hockey team. The wall of the sports complex "Arena-200" were placed tables where people put flowers and candles. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where hockey is a great honor, thousands of supporters gathered in central squares in cities and some did vigil with candles in memory of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey.
On board there were 37 passengers and 8 crew. The latest data are two people survived. Among the dead there are 11 foreign hockey players, including Canadian coach Brad Makkriman. According to one version, the crash occurred due to crew error. Passenger plane fell in reach 1 km height, spokesman Vladimir Markin federal investigation. Inter-State Aviation Committee has begun an investigation of the crash. The most likely cause of the incident was a malfunction of one of the three engines of the machine.
