Sticks seized from Real Madrid fans
SPANISH police seized a bag containing 19 sticks that a group of Real Madrid fans tried to check in on a flight to Amsterdam.
Police say the fans intended to use them in fights with Ajax fans before Tuesday's Champions League match.
Officers identified the man who tried to check in the bag at Madrid's Barajas airport, as well as those who he was traveling with as members of Real Madrid's radical Ultra Sur fan movement.
"According to several of the members the goal was to travel to Amsterdam with the clear and determined intention to fight with Ajax supporters," police said in a statement.
The members of the group were allowed to continue on their trip once they were identified by police, the statement added.
Members of the Ultra Sur have been involved in incidents of racist abuse, and have displayed Nazi flags and swastikas, during past Real matches.
They clashed with Ajax fans outside of Real's Bernabeu stadium before the Spanish side's 2-0 win over the Dutch team in September in their opening Champions League Group G encounter. |

| So sad, i suppose that they all gonna be fined... but, about that match, also local fans didnt seem to have so many desires to skirmish across the visiting group. |

What? some ultras sur guys No. Spanish Police requised the bats and helmets they wanna bring to Amsterdam, but then let them go. Once in Netherland, they have some beers before the apparition of the local police. After that, some of them were arrested, and the others stayed handcuffed since the match was finished... who knows why, because there were no incidents. Then to the airport, and back to Madrid. What a fucking waste of time, thanks to the police, of course. Usually, in cases like that, the fines in Spain are of 4.000 euros. But who knows, there are also bigger fines, usually in mediatic cases (and that it is), so could be bigger. We will see on thursday. |
