WRL BRIGANTES
Hello! I am new to this forum. Here to tell you about the ONLY Rugby League ultras in the world.
I am a Rugby League fan from Wigan in the North of England near Manchester.
No doubt you will have heard of Wigan due to the Premierleague team in the town. You may or may not know but Rugby League is king in Wigan. It has always been the biggest sport and we have a quality passionate fan base. I could bang on about that but I will get to the point.
At the end of 2009 some of our fans decided to make the stadium more colourful so we started by putting flags above one of our stands, this grew and grew and now we have our own ultras scene. We are called 'The Brigantes'. Named after the original tribe in the town.
Atmosphere and colour does not just exist in football but it is alive in Rugby League just as much.
We are the ONLY Rugby League Ultras in the world.
We now have over 30 large flags which are hung up around the stadium along with 11 large wavers about 15ft... and many homemade efforts which we are most proud of!!!!!!!
We went to Wembley for the cup final on saturday and 300 of the Brigantes were sat in the block together, we made plenty of noise and our lads won the cup! We stayed in the stadium for almost an hour after the final whistle and the stewards couldn't do anything about it.
Here are some links to our website and our youtube page. We also have a facebook page, our own forum and a twitter page. We have also been given a section on our club website, although it is not the best but thats offical clubs for you!

We also have merchandise and fundraising events as well as doing charity work as well.
We may not have the huge following of Celtic but we do have 16,000 average HOME support (with no away fans) and 2-5k away fans for every game. We are just as passionate about our Rugby club as other ultras are about their football club.
Would love any feedback you guys have to offer. We have only been going just over a season but we are very proud of what we have achieved.
Any advice about the next steps we should take or just general praise or feedback of what we do would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are a few photos...
I am most proud of this one because this was an under 19's friendly at barrow on a rainy day and we still put on a display! We pride ourselves on loyalty.
This one was on an awful day in the rain on an open terrace but we still put a display on!
Loads more photos on our website and some quality videos of our fans on the youtube channel. Thanks for reading.
Like I said, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, good and bad.
